CHICK DAYS 2026!
We work with the hatcheries the best we can to establish dates for pick-up. Please keep in mind that these are live animals, and we cannot always control when they will hatch or arrive. We will always call you to let you know if your birds are here, and also to update you on potential changes.
Please also be aware that the hatchery provides us with a 90% rate of accuracy regarding the sex of your laying birds.
Please print out the order form(s) and submit them in person at one of our retail stores.

Layers
Rhode Island Red

This “old-time breed” is very dark red in color. They are good producers of brown eggs.
Barred Rock

This breed is one of the oldest and well-known across the country. They are a great “family” bird, lay well throughout the seasons, and are very cold-tolerant.
Golden Comet

These light brown/golden chicks are bred for high brown egg production. They have a good feed conversion and excellent livability.
Buff Orpington

This cold-hardy breed is a dependable producer of brown eggs. They tend to be docile with beautiful yellow plumage.

Barnevelder

This breed originated in Holland. They are extremely cold-tolerant. They have a generally calm temperament and have burnt orange plumage with black throughout. They’re a medium-sized bird that lays dark brown eggs.
Light Brahma

These birds are large and have fluffy feathering that runs all the way down to their toes. They are reliable layers in all seasons and very cold-tolerant. They generally have a calm demeanor and can be broody.
Olive Egger

A cold-hardy, friendly, and rare breed, the Olive Egger comes in a variety of plumage and almost always lays an olive shade egg! The egg color varies from light olive to a darker army green. They are an overall favorite among flock owners.
